Our La Cadena Program partners are located in 10 or more departments (counties) in western Guatemala within a 5-hour bus ride from Panajachel, Lake Atitlan, Solola in areas that span most of western Guatemala from Mexico to El Salvador.

Although large numbers of poor, at-risk children live throughout Guatemala, the majority live in zones within Guatemala City and nearby Mixco where many more programs are available to help at-risk children and thus, the inner-city children are more likely to receive help and a better education than those living in rural areas.

Although the Niños del Lago outreach will include inner-city children, in support of our mission to provide opportunities to children living in a wide area of western Guatemala -- especially those living in remote regions, we are making every effort possible to identify La Cadena NGO partners that may not be well-funded nor have access to extra opportunities for the children they serve, so their children will enjoy equal opportunity within the Niños del Lago program.

Once in full operation, at camp Niños del Lago, we will receive more than 3,000 children from our NGO link partner organizations every year.
