In Support of our Mission

“To provide opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged Guatemalan children to fulfill their potential, and become positive agents of social change and empathetic future leaders in their communities…"

Our trilogy of powerful, integrated programs:

Through our “Journey to the Forest” program that will provide an educational camp experience, children will be inspired and empowered to discover opportunities for a better future through the power of play, creative activities, structured learning, mindfulness and leadership training. Children begin ages 7-11 and may return year-after-year (through ages 15-16), so long as they stay in school as part of our “La Cadena” (link) Partner Program.

Our group of “La Cadena” Partners is comprised of 35 NGOs in western Guatemala that provide primary school education or give scholarships to enable children to attend a local public school. To support the work of our La Cadena Partners, our team of educational specialists will schedule periodic Partner site visits throughout the year to help encourage and inspire the children to stay in school and follow their dreams.

Through our “University Mentor” Program, we are establishing a link with Guatemalan, USA and European university student-volunteers who will:

* Receive educational credit for their service work (minimum 4 weeks)
* Receive recognition for volunteer work when applying for graduate school
* Or want to help Guatemalan children while traveling during their gap year.

These bright, young university student-mentors will act as strong role models for the children.
