Name Our Camp

A permanent plaque with the name of your corporation, your family or an individual can be placed on any of the following-described improvements or camp facilities when you choose to make a capital gift to Niños del Lago, with the intent of funding a specific building or area of our camp.

The following facilities of our camp are available for 'naming', however, if you have a special area of interest you would like to fund and/or name, please write to us to discuss possibilities. Improvements valued at more than $5,000 may be equally-shared with co-donors.

Gate Keeper's Station & Office - $3,500
Bathroom & small rest area

Main Entrance Gates, Façade & Water Storage Tank - $5,000
Cement block faced with river rock, mounted with laminated iron gates. Approximately 45' o.a.

Camp Perimeter Fencing - $5,000
Galvanized chain link fencing mounted on cement block base (10' tall). Covered by native plants (both sides) for fill and protection.

Entrance Fountain - $1,000
A very traditional feature in Guatemala and a center of focus for all visitors. Fountain set in center of traffic turn-around

Camp Access Roads - $15,000
Roads for use of school bus, for camp deliveries, and as fire lane (ease of access). Approximately 300' in length, 6" thick cement block pavers set in sand and poured cement borders on either side of roads.

(9) Campers' Cabins - $9,500 (per cabin)
Each provides sleeping quarters and non-flush toilets (2) for 12 campers and 2 counselors. Approximately 325sq.ft./per cabin. Wood framing, screening, lattice panels, decking, cement pillar foundation, covered by galvanized (painted) corregated iron roofing.

Bath House Complex - $35,000
Common-use facility with expandable/movable walls, incorporated beneath Dining Hall (The decision to locate all bath house/toilet facilities in one area was made due to ecological and cost considerations.)

Camp Dining Hall - $35,000

Cook House/Kitchen - $10,000
A large kitchen will be needed where three meals/day for 125 people will be prepared.
(Value does not include appliances or utensils.)

Canyon Lookout Deck - $5,000
All wood, open deck, safely built to last for years and years use by our young Campers. Deck is a special place where Campers and visitors may visit and where they will experience the peace and tranquility of the deep valley and distant canyon.

Arts & Crafts/Multi-Use Activity Room - $15,000
This is a great room where many wonderful and creative things can happen. Room will be used for art classes, for counselor meetings and training, and for project-planning by our Campers. Approximate size is 450 sq. ft.

Administration Offices - $17,500
This building includes a reception area, general office and semi-private office for our staff. Approximate size is 350 sq. ft.

Camp Nurse's Station & Bath - $5,000
Nurse's Station will have one full bathroom and 2 infirmary beds (divided area) as well as a small consultation room.

Camp Outdoor Amphitheatre/Stage/Fire-Pit/Equipment Bodega - $20,000
The amphitheatre/stage area will be a center where many events will take place nearby the campfire. A natural inclined and concaved area on our land has been chosen on which to build this open-air theatre. While seated, Campers will have an unobstructed view of the low valley and canyon wall in the far distance.Campers may see far across the center of activity all the way across the wide canyon.
